Mindset Change!

The first comparison that comes to mind for me when talking about artifacts, is one that highlights the change in my mindset of examinations from my freshman year to the present (second semester sophomore year). The first artifact would be my Greek History blue book in which my tests for that class were in. The second would be my archaeology exams from my sophomore year. The general result of this comparison that I’m trying to achieve is to show how I’ve grown in my ability to keep up with and be more responsible about my school work. For context, freshman year (2021-2022) I felt as though I could, and somewhat did, breeze through all of my classes and still get good grades with putting very little effort into my work. I was keeping up with my work, however, not to my best ability, which caused me to develop fairly lazy study habits. I saw and felt the result of these habits when I got my Greek History tests back and was disappointed in myself. I think that was when the change came, because I became upset with myself for not doing well. This made me realize I had to start caring more about all aspects of school, not just learning. Failing also motivated me to want to do better, which I think is a large part of the reason I did so well on the archaeology tests. Having a better mindset allowed me to be more focused and in general more on top of my work. Along with that, I felt like I was able to get good grades on those tests because I knew what worked for me when studying.
